Simon Hutton
With extensive experience in the sports turf industry, Simon’s businesses encompass turf production, golf course and sports pitch construction, specialist earthworks and shaping and groundcare machinery sales. Leading by example, he’s hard working, motivated and his hands-on nature and enthusiasm helps to drive our unique and innovative approach to turf production. With a friendly and approachable manner he sets high customer service standards from initial quotation to after sales care.
FARM MANAGER
Alan Whiteley
During his 20 years at Tillers, Alan has amassed an extensive knowledge of our farm land. Vastly experienced, he organises seed bed preparation, chemical and fertiliser applications, mowing, irrigation and still finds time for daily field checks. Away from turf production he enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons and grandchildren.
PRODUCTION MANAGER
Stuart Dally
Stuart has recently joined Tillers after over 20 years of Arable Farming and Contracting management on three continents. Stuart is well-placed to ensure the efficient and smooth running of our extensive fleet of Tractors, Harvesters and Mowers. He has a wealth of experience with production techniques and machinery and is a keen advocate for more environmentally friendly farming practices.
Away from turf, he enjoys coaching his son’s junior rugby team and pastry baking.
GOLF AND TECHNICAL MANAGER
Richard Owens
Richard joined us after 20 years as Course Manager at Boston West Golf Club, and with over 35 years experience in the golf and turf industry he is well placed to offer advice and technical support for our highly specialised golf and wildflower turf products. He’s passionate about biodiversity on the golf course and is a former Conservation Greenkeeper of the Year and winner of the Lincolnshire Environmental Award. In his spare time you’ll most likely find him down at the waters edge pursuing his passion for angling.
Richard is also currently Chairman of the Turfgrass Growers Association.
SPECIALIST TURF MANAGER
Matt Tietjen
Matt is our highly skilled Specialist Turf Manager at Tillers Turf, where he takes meticulous care of our HTPro and specialist turf. With his expertise and attention to detail, Matt ensures that our turf maintains its pristine condition. When he’s not tending to the turf, Matt enjoys quality time with his family, engaging in activities like playing golf and exploring theme parks on weekends.
HARVEST MANAGER
Kieran Ellis
Kieran Ellis is a Harvest Manager here at Tillers Turf who is responsible for organising the harvest team, ensuring order fulfilment and maintaining quality control. With his years of experience in the industry, Kieran has developed excellent leadership skills and is known for his ability to manage a team effectively. He works closely with his team to ensure that the harvest is completed efficiently and to the highest standard.
When he’s not at work, Kieran enjoys spending time with his family and pets. He has two dogs named Simba and Skylar. On weekends, he enjoys taking them for walks and spending time outdoors.
STORES MANAGER
Matt Bowskill
Matt is our Stores Manager with over two decades in the turf industry, with roles varying from operating to repairing the vast fleet of equipment, tractors and vehicles. Matt’s knowledge and skills support the production and operation of the farm running smoothly.
Away from the stores/workshop, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and chocolate lab George, also in his man cave pottering, repairing and designing/making creations with his favourite tool, the 3D printer.

Customer service and logistics coordinator
Amy Tattersall
Originally from rural Virginia, Amy brings over 15 years of customer service experience across a diverse range of industries, including hospitality, construction, and non-profits. Known for being the first point of contact and always happy to help, Amy’s background in governance and attention to detail make her process-driven approach invaluable to the team.
Outside the office, Amy enjoys gardening, cooking, practicing yoga, and planning her next adventure abroad. However, her greatest joy comes from spending quality time with her family whenever she gets the chance to return to the States.
DEPOT MANAGER, BAGSHOT
Craig Lees
Craig manages our Bagshot depot and provides an outstanding service to his landscape and domestic customers. Following his time in the army he spent a number of years managing the grounds of a large private estate in Surrey. His spare time is spent with his wife and four children, often clambering over toys strewn around the house.

GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR
Becky Watson
Becky is responsible for the accounting operations across the group. With both practice and commercial experience she is well equipped to manage the finances of our four companies. Away from the numbers and when not looking after her beloved cats Coco and Maya, she enjoys hiking, gardening and visiting RHS shows.
ACCOUNTS ADMINISTRATOR
Pat Bray
Pat assists with entry and updates to financial systems and maintaining the farm management system, tracking the wide range of turf production at Tillers.
A dog lover at heart, he has a love/hate relationship with the family cat. Outside the office, he is a fair weather cyclist, enjoys messing around in the garden and taking in museum and art exhibitions.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MEDIA MANAGER
Pete Taylor
Pete is responsible for producing photography and video content for the company’s website and social media channels. His attention to detail and creativity bring a unique perspective to the content he produces. In addition to content creation, Pete also manages the company’s website, ensuring that it remains user-friendly and up-to-date. Outside of work, Pete is an accomplished photographer who enjoys pursuing personal projects in film, football, live music, and festivals.
