Tillers Turf had the pleasure of attending the European Turf Producers (ETP) Tour 2024 in Rome—a event bringing together turf experts from around the globe. The tour began with a day to visiting two of Italy’s top turf farms, allowing us to explore warm-season grass varieties like Zoysia, Paspalum, and Bermuda grass. As specialists in cool season turf, it was an invaluable opportunity to learn about the cultivation techniques and innovations behind warm season turf in sunnier climates.
The following day took us to the iconic Stadio Olimpico, a venue rich with sporting history. From past international soccer matches to rugby championships. Observing the recent renovations and networking with fellow turf professionals enhanced our appreciation for the craftsmanship involved in maintaining such prestigious sports grounds.
Our final stop was the Marco Simone Golf Club, home to the 2023 Ryder Cup. As former greenkeepers, it was an unforgettable experience to tour this course where recent sporting history was made. Meeting colleagues from over 15 countries, including Hungary, Australia, and the U.S., reinforced the international bond in our industry.
The ETP Tour 2024 was a fantastic event, leaving us inspired by global innovations in turf management and motivated to bring fresh ideas back to Tillers Turf. Thank you to the ETP and our Italian hosts for an incredible experience, and to our global followers for their ongoing support.
