At Tillers Turf, maintaining precise stock levels is crucial for ensuring we meet demand efficiently. Accurate field measurement plays a key role in this process, helping us track available turf and plan ahead.
We use three main methods to measure our fields. First, modern technology like the Planimeter app allows us to quickly map out areas using GPS. This method is particularly useful for large scale field measurements and provides instant data from the office. For more detailed accuracy, especially in smaller or irregularly shaped areas, we use an advanced GPS measuring tool linked to an app. This helps ensure precise turf calculations down to the nearest square meter. Finally, our tried and true method: the measuring wheel. While old school, this hands on approach remains a favourite for its reliability.
