At Tillers Turf, maintaining our lush, green turf during dry spells is no easy feat, especially with weeks of no significant rain. This week, we take you behind the scenes to show you how we manage irrigation on our fields. Ed, one of our dedicated team members, demonstrates the process of setting up our irrigators, a crucial step in keeping the turf thriving.
Ed begins by positioning the irrigator with GPS accuracy to ensure even water coverage without overlap. Once set up, the irrigator is hooked up, the tractor pulls it across the field, and then the system is ready to pump water. The entire irrigation process takes around 11-12 hours per field. Afterward, the irrigator is moved to the next location, repeating the cycle.
With 25 irrigators working tirelessly across our fields, our irrigation team deserves full credit for keeping everything running smoothly during these dry spells. Their efforts are vital in maintaining the high-quality turf our customers expect.
